At Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, we cherish the well-being of the
members of our community and want to help you protect your future. When
we see an opportunity to promote the courage and healthy behavior that inspires
others to follow that example, we take it. Through our Gallery of Hope, we
recognize and applaud those breast cancer survivors in our community who are
the faces of hope. We ask for your help in identifying these incredible
individuals so we can honor them publicly. If you know someone who has been
inspirational in her or his* battle with breast cancer, we would like to hear
about that special person—and share her/his story.
Where there is courage, there is life.
Each year, we commission the design of posters that make up the Blue Cross
Gallery of Hope—a collection of posters that feature the photographs and
personal stories of breast cancer survivors in our community. This traveling
display is meant to raise awareness of breast cancer and promote personal
accountability of one’s health by having recommended screenings such as
mammograms and making healthier choices by eating right, exercising and
understanding health risks.
Where there is prevention, there is life.
If detected early, the five-year survival rate for localized breast cancer is
97%. The American Cancer Society recommends that women ages 40 and older have
an annual screening mammography. Mammography is the best known early detection
screening method.
If you know a breast cancer survivor you would like to nominate for the Blue
Cross Gallery of Hope display, or if you would like to request that the Gallery
of Hope exhibit be displayed at your facility or event, please click "Nominate"
or "Request" at the bottom of this screen or call 1-888-245-3104. Blue Cross of
Northeastern Pennsylvania honors inspirational breast cancer survivors,
because… "Your health is everything. To us."
Let’s fight breast cancer. Together.
*While breast cancer does primarily affect women, it also affects men. We
welcome nominations of male survivors.
