Elizabeth truly believes that having her yearly mammogram saved her life. With her strong faith in God, she knew from the very beginning that she would beat her cancer.

Elizabeth works in the cafeteria at the University of Scranton, where she consistently spreads the message about the importance of mammograms and self-examinations to female college students. During her cancer treatment, she missed only one day of work, and she credits the students she sees every day with helping to keep her spirit strong.

Today, Elizabeth feels great. She enjoys working at the University, as well as attending Dunmore High School football games and trying her luck at Mohegan Sun with Cataldo, her husband of 50 years. She encourages all women, no matter their age, to get their routine mammograms. And she hopes her story will inspire others not to be afraid of the word “cancer.”

Says Elizabeth, “If even one woman schedules a mammogram because of my story, then it’s worth it!”
