Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and
Highmark Blue Shield

The BlueCare Cooperative Plan is a Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and Highmark Blue Shield plan for individuals and their families. The plan combines coverage through Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania facilities to provide hospitalization benefits and Highmark Blue Shield health care professionals to provide medical/surgical benefits.

The BlueCare Cooperative Plan provides preventive benefits for an annual screening mammogram (for women age 40 and over or when recommended by a physician), annual routine gynecological exam (including Pap test and breast exam) and pediatric immunizations.

When you use providers associated with Blue Cross^® and Blue Shield^® , you’ll receive discounted allowances, which help to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. You will also have access to medically necessary care worldwide through the BlueCard^® Program.
