BlueCare Security
Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and
Highmark Blue Shield
Effective January 1, 2007.
BlueCare Security is a Medicare supplement program offered by Blue Cross of
Northeastern Pennsylvania and Highmark Blue Shield. Designed to supplement the
federal Medicare program, BlueCare Security covers health care costs that
Medicare either does not pay in full or does not pay at all.
Plan A - provides a basic plan of supplemental benefits that includes
hospitalization services not covered by Medicare (after you pay the inpatient
hospital deductible) and the 20% coinsurance for doctor’s services after you
pay the annual Medicare deductible.
Plan B - provides the benefits of Plan A and coverage for Medicare’s
inpatient hospital deductible.
Plan C - provides the benefits of Plan A, coverage for Medicare’s
inpatient hospital deductible, Medicare’s medical services annual deductible,
skilled nursing coinsurance and foreign travel emergencies.
Plan H - provides the benefits of Plan A, coverage for Medicare’s
inpatient hospital deductible, skilled nursing coinsurance and foreign travel
emergencies.
