Special Care

Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and
Highmark Blue Shield

The Special Care Program provides affordable health care coverage to qualified individuals (click here to view the income level eligibility chart) with limited coverage for hospital and medical/surgical expenses due to accident or illness. Special Care coverage is provided through participating Blue Cross facilities and Blue Shield professional providers.

Special Care provides preventive benefits for an annual screening mammogram (for women age 40 and over or when recommended by a doctor), annual routine gynecological exam (including Pap test and breast exam), pediatric immunizations and routine pediatric physicals and screenings.
