Wilkes-Barre, Pa., July 7, 2010 — Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania today announced that Gregory G. Kile has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Provider Integration, effective July 6, 2010. In this newly created role, Mr. Kile will be responsible for leading BCNEPA’s efforts to better integrate with health care provider networks and hospital systems.
Mr. Kile has a long history of successfully leading provider organizations, most recently having served as Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Physicians Hospital Organization, a physician hospital organization encompassing over 1,100 physicians and a not-for-profit multi-corporate healthcare system, including an 800-bed acute care teaching hospital. Earlier in his career, Kile served as President and CEO of Susquehanna Health, a hospital and physician owned PPO that operated in Central and Northeastern PA.
“We take great pride in offering to our members the most complete and highest quality provider network in the region, and we will continue to improve the quality and accessibility of that network even as we work to deliver care more efficiently in the face of rising health care costs,” said Denise S. Cesare, President & Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania. “Greg is uniquely qualified for this role. Having led a large provider network and health system, he understands the many challenges facing providers, as well as the opportunities for working to improve patient outcomes while controlling costs.”
Mr. Kile commented: “As health care delivery becomes increasingly complicated and the focus of health care financing shifts from a fee-based model to an outcomes-based model, we will be at the forefront in developing relationships with health care providers that result in the best patient outcomes while controlling member costs.”
Mr. Kile earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pa.
