The Friends of the Osterhout Free Library recently announced that Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) has become the primary sponsor of the library’s upcoming Annual Book Sale.
The event, which is one of the library’s main fundraisers, will start on Saturday, June 14, 2014 and continue until Saturday, June 21, 2014 (closed on Sunday, June 15, 2014). Thousands of books from a variety of genres will be on sale at discounted prices, with all proceeds directly supporting the library.
Employee volunteers from BCNEPA’s Caring Corps will also be helping to staff the sale. BCNEPA employees are encouraged to volunteer for nonprofits in the community through organized Caring Corps projects and through BCNEPA’s progressive Volunteer Day policy, which provides paid time off to participate in community service.
“The Osterhout Free Library is an important part of the fabric of downtown Wilkes-Barre,” said Cynthia A. Yevich, senior director of corporate affairs at BCNEPA. “We are delighted that in addition to our corporate support, our employees will be donating their time at the event as well.”
