Wilkes-Barre – Twenty-two employee volunteers from Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) recently helped with various clean-up tasks at the Lands at Hillside Farms. The Lands at Hillside Farms is a non-profit, regional education center and historic farm estate in Shavertown dedicated to preserving the region's land and history, and promoting lifestyle choices that are healthy, conservation-minded and practical. The group from BCNPEA, who are all members of the company’s Caring Corps Employee Volunteer Program, helped clean a barn, spread mulch, and weed flower beds.
All year long, BCNEPA employees are encouraged to volunteer for nonprofits in the community through BCNEPA’s progressive Volunteer Day policy, which provides paid time off to participate in community service.
