Wilkes-Barre – Ten employees from Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) recently completed a volunteer project at the Lands at Hillside Farms, a non-profit education center and historic farm estate in Shavertown dedicated to preserving the region's land and history, and promoting lifestyle choices that are healthy, conservation-minded and practical. The group from BCNEPA, who are all members of the company’s Caring Corps Employee Volunteer Program, helped weed flower beds, pull plants and prepare the site for winter.
All year long, BCNEPA employees are encouraged to volunteer for nonprofits in the community through BCNEPA’s progressive Volunteer Day policy, which provides paid time off to participate in community service.
