It’s Simple to Save with a Flexible Spending Arrangement
What Is a Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA)?
An FSA is a tax-exempt account you own, that pays for qualified medical expenses. You save money because FSAs are not taxed! An FSA allows you to direct a part of your pay, tax free, into a special account. Use the account throughout the year to reimburse yourself for certain eligible out-of-pocket expenses like doctors’ office visit copays, pharmacy copays and deductibles for you and your family. By eliminating taxes, this adds up to savings–more money to spend on things you and your family enjoys.
How Does it Work?
With BlueCare FSA, you can use funds tax-free from your account to pay for eligible medical expenses such as copays, deductibles, and other expenses as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code on their website. You can receive a debit card for your FSA, so it's easy to use! Just use your debit card when paying, and money will be deducted from the FSA to pay for eligible medical expenses. You can also submit claims with a form.
HealthEquity, our account administrator, provides online and phone support that includes:
- Member service phone support available 24/7, 365 days a year, once you’re enrolled
- Online access to view account balances, check claims status and submit reimbursement/payment requests
