What Is a BlueCare Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)?
An HRA is a personal health care funding arrangement that gives you the freedom to select your health care plan and control your costs. HRAs are funded with your employer’s money; not from your salary. The fund can be used to help reimburse you and your family for the out-of-pocket costs you spend on your medical and/or pharmacy deductible. You’re in charge of managing your account and spending your health care dollars wisely.

How Does it Work?
To use the fund for an eligible medical and/or pharmacy expense, you file a claim for reimbursement and receive a check. You can submit a claim using a form or electronically (integrated with medical and/or pharmacy claims). The contributions made by your employer and any reimbursement that you receive, will not be considered taxable income. The HRA cannot be used for copayments, coinsurance, dental and vision expenses not covered under the plan or for health insurance premium payments.
