Radiology Management Program

To improve the quality of services provided to our members, on November 1, 2011, Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania entered into an agreement with National Imaging Associates, Inc.* (NIA), an affiliate of Magellan Health Services, to implement a radiology benefit management program.

This program includes the management and prior authorization of non-emergent, advanced, outpatient radiology services for both First Priority Health (FPH) and First Priority Life Insurance Company (FPLIC).

The program is consistent with industry-wide efforts to ensure clinically appropriate quality of care and to manage the increasing utilization of these services.
